Should Christian women wear make-up, weave or jewelry?

Since I was a little girl, I often heard in my church of worship that a woman should not wear pants, jewelry, weaves, polish, make-up and even certain colors and length of clothing. “This is a sin and should not be worn as women of God!” were the words I often heard. Even as a little girl, I always thought these requests were absurd. I thought to my self, “ doesn't God want us to look pretty?” Without freedom of choice, I found my self adhere to those rules and thought this was truly biblical concepts that made me holy.

Nancy, Ysgaelle and Jenny Bazile
Modest and Christian women that Loves God
I thought, as long as I look Christian, I am. I am sure this thought made you laugh, its hilarious to me now. Soon after my young adult ages of 13, 15 years old, I found my self sneaking paints, earrings, lipstick and other “forbidding” attire to school to wear. I am sure some of you recall those moments as well. My disobedience to my house/church rules turned to quote on quote “sinful” condemnation. This condemnation then eventually led to other “sins” which weren't  but because I have been thought that all things apart from what I was thought was a sin, I found myself going deeper and deeper till I completely lost my way into real sins and eventually became a lost sheep. As I look back, it all started with a doctrine that was enforced as sin. Soon I thought since I like this “sin” and find no wrong in it biblically  then I will do this until I find the truth. Only the truth I never seek and conviction of living a sin led me astray…..Until the day I was born again and I became a bible reader.

Cultural Attire, Ceremonial Attire, and Custom. Most are of excessive amount of Jewelry

One of the verses that are usually used to justify this “holiness attire” claim is First Timothy 2:9-10. It tells us, “I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.” Paul did not prohibit nor ban women from wearing jewelry, makeup, or braided hair. His emphasis was on women to not let their outward appearance become more important than their inner beauty.

I have seen so many long dressed, no make-up, “holy dressed modest” women do some things that women in the world would never do! First Samuel 16:7 states, “The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” Peter reminds us of this spiritual fact: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight” (1 Peter 3:3-5).

By the scriptures of the Word of God, I have yet seen God say to DO NOT wear these things. These “do not’s” are amongst some other doctrines rules such as drinking alcohol, dancing to non-Christian music, and etc. Excessiveness, idolizing, disobedience of a direct request from God are the ACTS that leads to sin.

To conclude I will state, there is nothing wrong with wearing jewelry, makeup, or braided hair as long as it is done in a modest manner. A woman should not be so focused on her outward appearance that she neglects her inner spiritual life. The Bible focuses on the heart. As for proper clothing, real women of God will not wear things that will surely tempt men to fail short. They will allow the Holy Spirit to guide their judgment on what is proper to wear. I would only expect less from a new Christian that doesn't know better. But if you have matured in Christ, I am sure a mini-skirt, see-through tights, low riders with your crack out and etc would be worn to anywhere. If a woman is spending too much time and money on her appearance, the problem is that the woman’s priorities are wrong. Excessiveness jewelry and clothing are the results of the problem, not the problem itself. So ladies, keep looking good, for the glory of God!

Nene Leaks Grandmother! Why a secret for mom?

GRANDDAUGHTER! Posted on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012 - 05:28PM by CQ

Reality diva Nene Leakes is showing off her new granddaughter Bri’asia Bryant in the new issue of In Touch Weekly, where she reveals that she was just as shocked as her fans to find out that she had a grandchild. A few months ago, she got a huge surprise when she ran into her son, Bryson’s girlfriend and noticed her baby bump.

Despite the shock, Nene has since accepted her granddaughter with open arms. Nene went on to say:

“I only found out about everything because I ran into Ashley when she was more than six months along.I said, ‘You look pregnant.’ Bryson’s girlfriend immediately responded, ‘Hasn’t Bryson told you?’

‘He hadn’t because he knew that I wouldn’t approve of him having a child so young. I didn’t feel like he was ready for such a big responsibility. I was his age when I had him, so I know how tough it is. I didn’t want him to make the same mistakes that I did. I needed to let it sink in.

“I always wanted to have a girl and now I have one! She’s just adorable.

I paid for everything in the nursery: the clothing, the diapers, I don’t want her to feel strapped. Little dresses, sparkly headbands, and Gucci shoes … We just love her!”

Egypt’s Islamist candidate woos women, Christians

Egypt's Islamist candidate woos women, ChristiansFILE - COMBO - This combination of two photos shows Egyptian presidential candidates, from left, Ahmed Shafiq, and Mohammed Morsi. The chairman of Egypt's presidential election commission says the Muslim Brotherhood's candidate and Hosni Mubarak's last prime minister will context next month's runoff vote. Farouq Sultan said Monday the official final results show the Brotherhood's Mohammed Morsi and Ahmed Shafiq, a former air force commander, as the top two finishers in the first round of voting on May 23-24. He said Morsi won 5.76 million votes, while Shafiq garnered 5.5 million votes.(AP Photo/Khalil Hamra; Nasser Nasser, File)(Credit: AP)
CAIRO (AP) — The presidential candidate for Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood wooed Christians, women and supporters of the ruling military Tuesday in a bid to expand his base of support and he also played up the stigma attached to his challenger, a senior figure in the old regime whose headquarters was burned down by angry protesters overnight.
The Islamist candidate Mohammed Morsi made the new campaign promises in a news conference, vowing to ensure the full rights of the Christian minority and women if he is elected. He also tried to reassure the pro-democracy youth groups who drove the last year’s popular uprising by promising to protect the right to stage peaceful protests and sit-ins.
Overnight, protesters stormed and burned the campaign headquarters of Morsi’s challenger Ahmed Shafiq, Mubarak’s last prime minister. In Tahrir square, birthplace of the anti-Mubarak uprising, protesters chanted slogans against both Morsi and Shafiq. Similar protests took place in the Mediterranean port city of Alexandria and elsewhere in northern Egypt.
Morsi claimed the top spot in the first round of Egypt’s landmark election last week, putting him in the June 16-17 runoff vote against Shafiq, also a former air force commander.
Both candidates are highly polarizing figures, and are scrambling to broaden their base by appealing to groups that didn’t support them in the first round.
Speaking to reporters in Cairo, Morsi said he planned to appoint Christians as presidential advisers and name one as vice president “if possible,” and said he would not impose an Islamic dress code in public for women.
“Our Christian brothers, they are partners in the nation. They will have full rights that are equal to those enjoyed by Muslims,” Morsi said. “They will be represented as advisers in the presidential institution, and maybe a vice president if possible.”
Women, he said, will have full rights in jobs and education. “Women have a right to freely choose the attire that suits them,” he said.
Morsi, 60, also praised the generals who took over from Mubarak, though he acknowledged that mistakes were made while they managed the transitional period.
“There is not a single Egyptian who doesn’t like the military. The military played a glorious rule in protecting the revolution,” Morsi said. “There were mistakes, yes, but also positive steps. Among those positive steps is the elections held under the protection of the police and military.”
Morsi said there would be no clashes or charges of treason against the military, suggesting that he has no intention of entertaining calls by some pro-democracy groups for the generals to be tried for alleged crimes during the past 15 months.
The groups blame the military for killing scores of protesters, torturing detainees and putting at least 12,000 civilians on trial before military tribunals.
Morsi also vowed to create a broad coalition government, and said the country’s new constitution would be written by a panel that is truly representative of the nation.
The Brotherhood and other Islamists who control more than 70 percent of parliament’s seats packed the original constitutional panel with their own supporters in a bid to influence the charter. However, a court ruling disbanded it on the grounds that it did not observe the rules of selection spelled out in a constitutional declaration adopted last year.
Morsi and Shafiq qualified for the runoff after they finished as the top vote-getters in the first round of voting on May 23-24. Morsi won close to 5.8 million votes, or almost 25 percent, while Shafiq garnered 5.5 million votes, or nearly 24 percent, according to final official results announced on Monday.
Morsi also pledged to lift the decades-old state of emergency, which gives police wide powers of arrest and detention.

YOU AND THE WORD OF GOD

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Proverb 18:21

It has come to be known in the body of Christ that the word of God is the most powerful tool for the Christian body alike. Denominations and other religions have found themselves in the “Book of life” for their every need. We see that the bible have covered EVERY life questions imaginable, we simply have to READ. Over and over we find many instances that God and Jesus “spoke” things, life and miracles into existence. The very same power of words are given to us Christians, we simply need to open our mouths and “speak.”

One of the many teachings in the power of the Word is the description that Paul provided in explaining the Armor of God. He said in Eph 6:11 -18 to Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. The verse goes on to explain the armor in detail: Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

With so much emphasis on the word of God, we can and must believe that there is power in the word of God. Once we start to believe it and utilize it, the atmosphere will change according to the words that we speak. With a combination of proclaiming the blood of Jesus, the name of Jesus, faith, love and holiness; the WORD of God is included in the powerful tools of evil destructions.  So if we have faith in Jesus and all the works of God, we should have faith in the Word just the same. After all “In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God, and the Word (Jesus) was God. - John 1:1

Below are some example issues, questions and concerns that we face in our lives.  But every answer to those concerns is available in the Bible and results can be found there as well. Put this into practice and watch your atmosphere change for the good.

Also say “I faith! Even If I had faith even as small as a mustard seed, I could say to this mulberry tree, 'May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,' and it would obey ME! Luke 17:6

The list goes on and on….

You can make a list of verses for yourself, children, office, family and etc. You can place it in different areas in your house that pertains to those scriptures and use them daily. You can also print this post and use it as needed.  But your best bet is to spend time with the word of God. It doesn’t take all day to be renewed with a mind of Christ. Only 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes with the word will make a dramatic difference in your life. As you mature in the word, you will be able to spend more time with the Word (Jesus).

“I Got My MATE So I No Longer Need To Persevere Syndrome”

“I Got My MATE So I No Longer Need To Persevere Syndrome”

I have been thinking of this weeks' post for sometime now. I did not want to choose or write about anything that the holy spirit didn’t lead me to write, so I waited for a word. As I was in meditation and prayer this morning, the holy spirit led me to think about how we as Christians begin to loose focus in God after receiving what we have been praying for months if not years. Our need for a mate, financial blessings, healing and etc.

This is not a spiritual attack that only women face in the body of Christ. Men as well has walked away or lost interest in the things of the Lord once they have met and married the “gift” a wife or a husband from God. This is not usually done intentionally. At times, it can go unnoticed for months.  Before you know it, we find ourselves missing church services, fellowship and all the activities that we use to hold dear when we were hungry and thirsty for a mate. Prior to that mate, we would climb mountains to go pray on a distant hill  or sleep in the church over night on our bellies decreeing and declaring. Yet, as soon as we say “I DO” that time with God diminishes.

I personally have experience this syndrome in my life, but it's what we do when we notice the distance between us and God that matters the most. When we can hear the voice of God calling, seeking for our attention and us responding by acknowledging the call, we have overcome the stronghold. Let's not allow excuses and self reasoning keep us further away from Him. I have come to believe that its not the fall that keeps us down, but its the remaining down that shows our weakness.

God is love, indeed. The love you have for your mate or future mate is priceless. When we are blessed with a mate and/or other blessings in our lives, let's not forget the Lord our God (Deuteronomy 8). We can give our mates the attention, love and affection that he/she needs without loosing the drive and dedication that you had prior to being blessed with your gift(s) from God. I am sure that if your mate is first and foremost “in the spirit” they will understand your walk.  If they are truly believers they will also understand that you are a servant of God and that you must remain faithful to God for your future spiritual needs together.

With this new revelation, I have learned that when we are blessed with a mate, that mate should never become the main and ONLY center of our lives. No matter how deep and head-over heals in love you are with your new sent love, your dedication and commitment to God should supersede that love that you feel for one another. God IS the center and should always remain the center of your relationships. No matter how the wind blows, God is first and should always remain first even after your blessing comes.

Our lives must be as follows for the success of not only our relationship with our mates but our spiritual walk as well:

God
Wife/Husband
Children
Distant Family
Friends
Leisure

Praise God always and with everything you posses and with everyone that are in your lives...
