Divorces In The Body of Christ

Recently, I have been observing the many trials that the body of Christ is enduring. One particular that stands out for me is the rate of divorces that is amongst Christians. Lets look at some fact by Barna Research Group:

11% of the adult population is currently divorced.

25% of adults have had at least one divorce during their lifetime.

Divorce rates among conservative Christians were significantly higher than for other faith groups, and much higher than Atheists and Agnostics experience.

Barna report: Variation in divorce rates among Christian faith groups:

Denomination (in order of decreasing divorce rate)
% who have been divorced
Non-denominational ** 34%
Baptists 29%
Mainline Protestants 25%
Mormons 24%
Catholics 21%
Lutherans 21%

Now this number truly has got to change! Apart from the enemy moving like a roaring lion seeking whom he can devour; what are we Christians doing in our marriage that is allowing us to resemble the world's way of doing things?! or as the research group has shown us, the world has been doing better than us.

Let me hear your thoughts on this subject. What can we change in our walk, ways, life and etc that can change this devastating attack amongst us.  After all, a family that prays together, stays together...why aren't we?

Becoming A Woman Of Excellence

A woman of excellence Is what I long to be

Filled with your godly wisdom So it is part of me

A woman of integrity No matter what I face Standing up for righteousness And for your saving grace

A woman of destiny Living out your plan Knowing where you'd have me walk Being guided by your hand

A woman of promise Standing on your word Holding on to all the truths While carrying out your work

A woman of compassion For the ones in the dark Those that do not know your love And have darkness in their hearts

A woman that will never Compromise the faith With what the world may offer But will keep the narrow way

A woman who loves Jesus And will only follow Him Gladly to give up the world So His light can shine within

Lord this is my earnest prayer As a daughter by your grace Grow in me these qualities As I walk with you in faith

A Praying Man

As I walked softly in the room his head was bowed down low,

His hands lay idly in his lap, his breathing calm and slow.
I thought that he was sleeping till he opened up his eyes,
He made me want to kiss him when he said, to my surprise...

"Have I told you that I love you? I was telling God right now, Oh, I know He knows already but I told Him anyhow
 "We both think you're something special and I know that He'd agree Nothing bad should ever touch you, not if it were up to me!"

 Prickly goose bumps start to tingle, icy chills run up my spine, And sometimes I have to pinch myself: this prayin' man is mine! And just before we start our meals he always says a prayer, For God to bless the food we eat and keep us in His care. I love it when he reaches out and puts his hand in mine, And speaking low, he thanks the Lord when we go out to dine.

He asks the Lord's protection when we're traveling in the car, For angels to ride with us if we're going very far. I picture one above us, on the sides, the front, behind, Our housetop angel waves goodbye, (but only in my mind).

Girls, you can keep the latest hunk, I'm not a beef-cake fan, Stud muffins leave me unimpressed, give me a prayin' man!

He owns my heart forever 'cause there's nothing stronger than Words of power, words of blessing coming from a prayin' man

 "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16 KJV)

WOG Talk Anthem

PROVERB 31

Sayings of King Lemuel
 The sayings of King Lemuel—an inspired utterance his mother taught him.
 Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb!
   Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers!
 Do not spend your strength on women,
   your vigor on those who ruin kings.
  It is not for kings, Lemuel
   it is not for kings to drink wine,
   not for rulers to crave beer,
 lest they drink and forget what has been decreed,
   and deprive all the oppressed of their rights.
Let beer be for those who are perishing,
   wine for those who are in anguish!
Let them drink and forget their poverty
   and remember their misery no more.
 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,
   for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up and judge fairly;
   defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character
 A wife of noble character who can find?
   She is worth far more than rubies.
 Her husband has full confidence in her
   and lacks nothing of value.
 She brings him good, not harm,
   all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax
   and works with eager hands.
 She is like the merchant ships,
   bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still night;
   she provides food for her family
   and portions for her female servants.
 She considers a field and buys it;
   out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
 She sets about her work vigorously;
   her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable,
   and her lamp does not go out at night.
 In her hand she holds the distaff
   and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
 She opens her arms to the poor
   and extends her hands to the needy.
 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
   for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
 She makes coverings for her bed;
   she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
   where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
   and supplies the merchants with sashes.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
   she can laugh at the days to come.
 She speaks with wisdom,
   and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
 She watches over the affairs of her household
   and does not eat the bread of idleness.
 Her children arise and call her blessed;
   her husband also, and he praises her:
 “Many women do noble things,
   but you surpass them all.”
 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
   but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done,
   and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
